Fresh bakes, comforting brunches, and a win for plant-based athletes.

Candy options from Good Rebel
Hey everyone as the weather turns colder it marks another slowish week for vegan news and events.
But still a few things worth pencilling in. Fatty Bear is back with its Saturday morning pastry pop-up on Dupont this weekend, and there’s a cozy vegan brunch happening Sunday at The Lab.
Plus, on the global front, Impossible Foods just earned a major milestone as the first plant-based meat certified for professional athletes.

World Vegan News:
Impossible Foods Becomes First Plant-Based Meat Certified for Professional Athletes
Impossible Foods has become the first plant-based meat company to earn the NSF Certified for Sport designation, a certification recognized by major athletic organizations including the NFL, MLB, PGA, LPGA, and the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport. The seal confirms that Impossible’s products meet rigorous standards for safety, nutrition, and the absence of banned substances, making them officially approved for professional athletes. CEO Peter McGuinness called the certification “the gold standard in sports,” noting it underscores Impossible’s commitment to clean, nutrient-dense food amid criticism of ultra-processed products. The NSF described the company’s plant-based beef as its first “fresh food” to achieve the program’s highest level of certification. With the new approval, Impossible’s burgers and beef will soon appear in foodservice programs across major sports leagues, giving athletes a new, protein-rich plant-based option alongside existing certified brands like Garden of Life and AG1.
