Week of Mar 26 - Apr 1

A relaxed vegan night out, maple-flavoured mornings, and the first wave of Easter treats.

Awesome sandwich from Nonno’s In Hamilton

Hello and welcome back.

This week feels like a bit of a seasonal shift, with lighter social plans picking up and some timely food pop-ups appearing just as Easter starts to come into view.

There are a couple of simple opportunities to get out, meet people, or stop in for something sweet during the daytime, along with a few early reminders about what’s starting to show up on local vegan shelves.

As always, I’ve kept things focused on what’s happening right now so you can quickly see what might fit into your schedule over the next few days.

This Week:

📅 Friday, March 27
🕒 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
📍 Thien Tam Asia — 2907 Dundas Street West

A casual monthly vegan social focused on meeting new people and connecting over vegan food and drinks in a relaxed restaurant setting. Open to vegans and non-vegans, with no cover charge.

📅 March 26, 27, 28
🕒 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
📍 1672 St Clair Ave W

A casual daytime vegan food pop-up focused on maple-themed breakfast plates and baked goods. Attendees can stop by for items such as pancakes with maple syrup, scones, cookies, maple butter tarts, and coffee, with fresh maple syrup provided by Spade & Spoon.

(Event details are accurate to the best of my knowledge at the time of publishing. Events are intended to be vegan, but details may change, please confirm directly with the organizer if you have specific concerns.)

Product of the Week

Each week, I share a vegan product I personally use or trust. Some links are affiliate links, at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products I genuinely stand behind.

Made by Dutch family-run company Brinkers Food, which has been producing organic and Fair Trade chocolate spreads since the late 1800s. This vegan version uses roasted hazelnuts, cocoa, cane sugar and sunflower oil, and is certified organic as well as palm oil-free. It is also free from gluten and soy, with a smooth texture suited to toast, baking, or simple everyday use.

Worth Noting:

Easter is around the corner

Good Rebel has started stocking its dairy-free Easter selection, with a range that includes chocolate eggs with caramel and cream centres, solid chocolate bunnies in various sizes, and gummy bunny candies. The seasonal items are now available in-store and are expected to rotate as stock changes, so shoppers looking for vegan Easter treats may want to check in early to see the current selection.

Tree-eats Vegan Bakery is a women owned vegan bakery from Tiverton, On. specializing in Giant Stuffed Vegan Cookies and they have launched their Easter menu. They create over the top, nostalgic and gourmet cookies and this year's Easter menu features flavours from bueno, to creme egg to maple cookie butter stuffed. They ship their cookies Ontario Wide but be sure to place your order by Sunday March 29th to ensure delivery before Easter weekend.

Must-visit if in Hamilton

Nonno’s focuses on Italian deli-inspired food, with made-to-order sandwiches featuring vegan cold cuts such as corned beef-style slices, chickun parmigiana, and mortadella-style fillings, alongside prepared sides and packaged vegan meats and cheeses.
