A weekend expo, an ongoing deal, and what’s ahead

@Viet Chay Vegan Cuisine

Things are a bit lighter on the events front this week, but there’s still a large expo happening this weekend that’s worth checking out for the opportunity to try out some new products and discovering smaller brands.

Beyond that, this edition leans into what’s coming up next, with a few upcoming events that are shaping up to be some of the bigger ones of the season.

Also, The Plant Curious promotion is still running, and there’s a quick note touching on the growing conversation around vegan dog food and why more people are starting to explore it.

📅 Saturday, April 18 – Sunday, April 19, 2026
🕒 10 a.m. – 5/6 p.m.
📍 Metro Toronto Convention Centre, 255 Front Street West
🎟️ Tickets required (available online)

A general wellness expo with a mix of food brands, supplements, and health products, including a number of vegan and vegan-friendly vendors. For vegans, this is mainly worth visiting for free samples (dairy-free cheeses, snacks, and vegan products), smaller local brands that aren’t widely available yet, and some vegan-friendly supplements like protein powders and B12. It’s not a vegan-focused event, so expect to filter through non-vegan booths, but there’s usually enough to make it a worthwhile casual stop.

Promotion of the Week

Eating out in Toronto adds up fast, so when there’s an easy way to save $15–$25 every time, it’s worth paying attention. Our Plant Curious discount is still live.

Special offer:

You can try it for $1 for your first 3 months with code INSIDER.

No commitment and you can cancel anytime!

⭐ Spotlight:

Plant Curious is a local membership that gives you exclusive deals at vegan and vegan-friendly spots across the city.

This week, they’ve added a BOGO Taco Trio deal at Taqueria Vegana’s new Bloor location (worth about $17 on its own) so realistically, that one visit more than covers the cost of joining.

And they keep adding new deals all the time, so there’s always something new to try, and it makes eating out way more affordable.

Worth Noting:

This VegNews article explores the growing interest in fiber-rich, plant-based diets for dogs, highlighting how gut health plays a key role in digestion, immunity, and even skin conditions. It explains that dogs, as omnivores, can thrive on well-balanced vegan diets, with studies showing potential benefits such as improved digestion, fewer health issues, and reduced vet visits. Beyond health, environmental impact is another factor, with research suggesting plant-based diets for dogs could significantly reduce carbon emissions.

It also aligns with what I’ve personally seen since my two dogs have been on vegan food for a while now and are doing very well.
