Worth Noting:

PLANTA, the upscale vegan restaurant chain that started in Toronto, says it is rebuilding around the U.S. after a turbulent stretch that included bankruptcy and the closure of its remaining Canadian locations. In a new interview, the company says it still sees strong demand for plant-based dining but believes the category has evolved, with diners now looking for fresher, more ingredient-driven meals rather than heavily processed meat substitutes. As part of that reset, PLANTA is rolling out a more globally inspired menu shaped by coastal cuisines and says future expansion is most likely in San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland. Sadly for us Canadian fans, the key takeaway is that while the brand began in Toronto, its next chapter is focused firmly south of the border.
