Week of June 4 - 10
June is here, and this week feels like a proper start to the season.

Weekend Brunch @Evviva
This week is all about kicking off June with a mix of big street-festival energy and a few reasons to keep eating well around the city.
Do West Fest is back on Dundas West with vegan grill favourites, Taqueria Vegana is marking its second anniversary with a dine-in celebration, and there’s still time to get out and enjoy Sustainalicious while it runs through mid-month.
We also have a nice bit of local food news with The Hogtown Vegan getting some well-earned attention from CP24. A strong first week of the month, and a good one for anyone ready to lean into summer.
This Week:
📅 Friday, June 5 – Sunday, June 7, 2026
📍 Dundas St W, from Shaw St to Lansdowne Ave
🎟️ Free admission
Do West Fest returns this weekend with live music, art, food, and community programming across 16 blocks of Dundas West. It’s one of Toronto’s biggest street festivals, and the food lineup includes vegan options like Sausage Party’s handcrafted vegan sausages and veggie hotdogs, plus Good Rebel’s vegan grill serving BBQ vegan chicken legs with ranch drizzle.
📅 Saturday, June 7, 2026
🕒 12:00–4:00 p.m.
📍 1543 Dupont St
🎟️ Dine-in only
Taqueria Vegana is celebrating its second anniversary with a dine-in-only party featuring taco trios for $14, free honey’s ice cream, free pay de queso, and music from a DJ. The event is in-store only, with no takeout available, and the restaurant notes that conditions apply.
(Event details are accurate to the best of my knowledge at the time of publishing. Events are intended to be vegan, but details may change, please confirm directly with the organizer if you have specific concerns.)
Worth Noting:
The city-wide climate-smart dining festival runs through June 14 and features 35 participating restaurants across Toronto. The lineup includes a mix of plant-based and vegan-friendly spots, such as Sushi Momo, Bar Avelo, PAI, AM Bagel, and others, making it the best ongoing food-focused pickup for this week.
A new CP24 feature spotlights The Hogtown Vegan, the long-running College Street restaurant known for vegan Southern comfort food. Owner and chef Jordan Hamilton says the menu was designed to show there are no limits in vegan cooking, with dishes like “un-chicken and waffles,” “pulled un-pork” mac and cheez, and a house-made spicy espresso brownie. The piece also notes that the kitchen is completely meat- and dairy-free, and nut-free, making it a welcoming option for diners with allergies as well as vegans and omnivores. The Hogtown Vegan is located at 382 College St.
