This week brings three vegan events, starting with a rooftop cheese tasting and a chance to connect with fellow vegan food lovers. There are also two food-focused gatherings in Christie Pits Park: a 100% vegan picnic potluck on Saturday afternoon, and a muffin-themed bake-luck on Monday evening. Both are casual, bring-a-dish-to-share events, and they’re a good way to meet other vegans in the city.

Looking ahead, there are two more VegTO rooftop socials to add to your calendar: a sunset social with SAU Bake on August 27 and a long-table dinner with Lauren Toyota on September 18, which is already sold out but has a waitlist available.

This Week:

📅 Friday, August 21, 2026
🕒 6:30–8:30 p.m.
📍 The Big Carrot Danforth Community Market rooftop, 348 Danforth Ave
🎟️ $25; includes a sober beverage, with additional rounds available to take home

A rooftop sunset social hosted by VegTO and local vegan cheese brand Better Brie, featuring a guided tasting flight of four flavour pairings and a chance to connect with other vegan food lovers.

📅 Saturday, August 22
🕒 12:00–3:00 p.m.
📍 Christie Pits Park, 750 Bloor St W

A vegan potluck picnic organized by the Toronto Vegan Meetup group, where participants bring their own plant-based dish to share, plus reusable plates, utensils, and serving ware. The event is open to vegans and non-vegans, but all food must be 100% vegan; alcohol is not permitted, and attendees are asked to help clean up and leave the park tidy. Organizers hope to meet near a table in the main pavilion, with a specific location to be posted on the event page on the day.

📅 Monday, August 24
🕒 6:00–8:00 p.m.
📍 Christie Pits Park; exact meeting spot to be shared with RSVPs

The Vegan Baking Group is having a vegan bake-luck with a muffin theme, where participants bring their favourite sweet or savoury vegan muffin to share. RSVP by Thursday, August 20 to [email protected] so the group can plan quantities and share the exact meeting location in the park.
(Event details are accurate to the best of my knowledge at the time of publishing. Events are intended to be vegan, but details may change, please confirm directly with the organizer if you have specific concerns.)
